Consecutive interpreting service
This type of interpreting is similar to simultaneous but is not carried out from a booth. Usually the interpreter will sit next to the speaker and take notes for a maximum of 5 minutes, after which they will relay the contents in the target language to those present. It should be remembered that this type of interpreting greatly increases the time taken for the conference or seminar, given that as soon as the speaker has spoken, the interpreter must repeat the contents in the target language, shortening it but without leaving out the key information given by the speaker. There are specific techniques for consecutive interpreting, which the professional will of course have studied and trained in previously. This type of interpreting is mainly used in business meetings.
